We Must Protect the Telecoms!

WE must protect our patriotic telecom companies via FISA... we must. These companies chose to support national security and for that they are to be thanked. They chose to volunteer their services at no cost to our government, forgetting profit margins, and instead serving their country. God Bless the telecoms...

I think I’m on to something here… first of all, the oil industry is of course realizing record profits on the plight of the American people… They say oil is going up because of worldwide demand… yet while there’s a push to drill in Anwar and off the coasts of Texas, California and Florida, there’s no push to ensure the oil drilled there goes directly to the American market… instead it will, as usual, be ported to the world market… It’s true that the oil will add supply to the market, it will make only a slight ripple in the overall cost… however, if it were to be piped directly into our own supply, it could really “flood” the market with supply… This would of course not be favorable to our oil industry, as supply would indeed overtake demand, therefore lowering the cost, and their profit.

Bush A Tough Negotiator and McCain Unveiled!

Well, I’ve got to say… I’m blown away by George and John’s hypocrisy. (Bush and McCain). Each is hitting Obama hard right now regarding his desire to “talk” to our enemies… because of course as George and McCain have recently said, that sort of recklessness is what led to Hitler and the slaughter of the Jews… Of course it was John McCain who once proclaimed that the Bush administration was flawed in not talking to Hamas and others...

You know, the dollar is falling... for most I think it's hard to notice... it's like your hair, you hardly know it's getting long by a daily look in the mirror, but for a person who hasn't seen you in a while, it's quite apparent. Part of the problem is that we as citizens have a myoptic view of things financially... I mean, sure the stock market is somewhat visible to most of us, but what about trade?

First of all, before delving into the following I want to state the rules of the White House communications game. They're simple really.... if you're sending emails and you're white house staff, you must send them through the white house email server. This law was put in place to accommodate the freedom of information act.

Do You Support Our Troops?

Tags:
@ 08:47 PM (16 months, 3 days ago)

Do you support our troops?

That's a question that I hear every day on the right wing media. At first blush, my answer (as I'm sure yours) is of course I do! I love America! USA! USA! USA! I have friends who are troops... and went to the same high school as Pat Tillman (though I graduated some years earlier I did see him play football at Leland, and met his folks in the bleachers).

I do support our troops! But, if you listen carefully to the right wing media (ie Rush, Hannity, etc.) you'll find they're asking the question in a different context.

Supporting the troops in my opinion is the following:

Making sure they're adequately armed and protected before going to war (especially in elective wars)

Ensuring they are properly trained for each mission, and properly rested after each tour of duty

Providing the absolute best medical care and lifelong financial support for those troops who are injured (enough money to live a good life as an American hero should!)

Providing outstanding death benefits to fallen soldiers families so that they can live happy lives

Reporting the happenstance of soldiers deaths accurately and with dignity and NOT lie to increase moral or polls

Caring so much for our soldiers as to only send them on missions that DEFEND the USA from proven aggressors

Promoting each surviving family of fallen soldiers as heros in the media, even when they don't agree with current policy

Holding those who's lies cause deaths to our soldiers accountable, so that their deaths truly aren't in vein

Those are just a few examples of supporting our troops as I see it.

Ok, I know... I've heard quite a few questions wondering if I'd quit writing, or just given up. Have no fear readers, I'm still here... there was some confusion of whether Bloghi was closing shop... I thought they were and tried a few other sites, got unmotivated and stopped... now low and behold, I can again post!

Our world is polarized.... Spin this!

Wasn't there a time when we the people judged items, people, legislation, wars, economies, social and welfare programs, etc by their merits, and not by politics? Now days, everything around us is labeled as liberal or conservative. A state Supreme Court judge looking for support is labeled either liberal or conservative. The economy, with Halliburton, Exxon, etc doing well and the lower & middle class floundering is considered conservative. The war against Afghanistan was just and American, but the one in Iraq... Conservative. Feeding the poor, housing the homeless, ensuring retired folks get their hard earned promised pensions, keeping our oceans and air clean...those are liberal "agendas" Tax breaks which favor the rich (they do pay more) is a conservative platform. Raising taxes to improve our infrastructure...you guessed it...liberal. Lowering taxes during a record deficit and a voluntary war while cutting social program funding... Bush Economics.

Mel Gibson - All Aboard the Limbaugh Train!

Why is it that every time an unfavorable event involves a well known media star, or fat cat political sympathizer of say conservative cloth, the immediate right wing radio response is one of defense, pity and support, while all other similar crimes committed by less stellar fellows (say unknown middle or lower class folks) are treated with an iron fist... 3 strikes and YOU'RE OUT!
